Police Foil Bandits’ Attack in Katsina, Neutralise Suspect

Katsina, March 15, 2025 – Security operatives in Katsina State have foiled a planned bandits’ attack on Dan Takuri village in Danmusa Local Government Area, neutralising one suspected bandit and recovering weapons.

Acting on intelligence from the Department of State Services (DSS), the Katsina State Police Command, in collaboration with the Katsina State Community Watch Corps (KSCWC), launched a swift operation at Maijele Mountain, where the assailants had assembled.

During the exchange of gunfire, police operatives overpowered the bandits, killing one, while others fled with gunshot wounds.

Recovered items include:

  • One AK-47 rifle with three rounds of 7.62mm ammunition
  • One unregistered red Boxer motorcycle
  • 50 wraps of suspected Indian hemp
  • 32 bottles of soft drinks
  • One cutlass
  • Various dangerous drugs

Commissioner of Police CP Aliyu Abubakar Musa commended the officers for their bravery and assured continued efforts to protect lives and property.

He urged residents to support security agencies with timely information to curb criminal activities.
